When there are not enough 9U teams, GSL Tournaments will combine the 8U and 9U AAA divisions or the 9U Majors and the 10U AAA. It takes at least 4 teams in order to fill out a competitive weekend. 

All 8/9U AAA games are played with a 5 runs per inning limit with exception of the last inning or last declared inning due to time constraints. 9U Majors and above will not have runs per inning limits.

The 9U division is played with no leadoffs and no dropped third strikes. 

The 9U division plays with USA Bat Standards. This includes any of the following bats that are or have the USA stamp, BBCOR or wood.

The pitching distance for the 8/9U AAA division is 43 feet and the base baths are 60 feet. 9U Majors is played with 46 foot mounds and 60 foot bases. Most games will be played on portable mounds, if there is not a medium to small option available, pitchers will throw from the flat ground.

GSL Tournaments believes the coaches should use their best discretion regarding their use of pitchers. It is NOT a requirement but it is STRONGLY ENCOURAGED that teams follow the USA Pitch Smart Guidelines to best protect their players' futures.

The age cutoff for the 9U Division during the 2022 season is players born on or after May 1st, 2012.
